PreShifter wasn’t born in a boardroom or a tech incubator.

It was born watching a server get berated by a regular because she sold them the special that got 86’d 30 minutes ago – and nobody told her.

It was born the night a missed allergen update cost you a 1-star review, a comp you couldn’t afford, and your best server’s notice the next morning.

It was born when the expo line imploded because the prep cook never saw the updated recipe, made 40 portions wrong, and backed up the kitchen for four hours.

We’ve lived this. For decades.

We’ve worked the floor. Run the expo. Managed double-covers understaffed. And we watched the same nightmare repeat everywhere:

Critical info delivered once in a chaotic pre-shift – then forgotten.
Menu changes scribbled on a dupe pad three people saw.
The server who missed the meeting. The cook who started late.
And then the guest orders it. Someone has to break the news. The server looks incompetent. The kitchen gets blamed. All of it avoidable.

We got tired of watching good people set up to fail by bad systems.
