PreShifter was created by people who lived restaurant work – not from the sidelines, but from the floor, night after night, shift after shift.
For decades, we worked in and around some of the most demanding restaurant environments, watching the same problems repeat themselves everywhere: critical information lost in pre-shift meetings, updates passed verbally and forgotten minutes later, menu changes scribbled on paper, and teams forced to rely on memory under pressure.
Restaurants invested heavily in software for payroll, POS, reservations, and scheduling – but the most important work of all, the shift itself, was left without a real system.
That gap wasn’t theoretical. It was felt every night in mistakes, miscommunication, stress, and burnout. And after years of living it firsthand, one thing became clear: the industry had accepted chaos as normal simply because there was no better option.
PreShifter exists because we knew that couldn’t be the end of the story.
